Meet Our Team

A great home design is nurtured and created. It only makes sense the work culture that incubates that design is also nurturing, creative and filled with positive tension. To that end we choose our staff members carefully and instill in the work culture an environment where work and play are truly inseparable.

The result is a work environment which is fun, warm and inclusive and we like to believe that only helps create the kind of designs that will help our clients feel the same energy that their homes were created in.

Mr. Victor (info@victoreric.com): Founding Partner

As the founding partner, we respectfully call him Mr. Victor. He takes most of the credit for the current industry recognition and repeated client referrals to VictorEric Premium Homes. He may be merely a figurehead, but since our other founding partner insists on being so humble, Mr. Victor happily accepts praise on behalf of the firm. This is his sole responsibility to the company, aside from lending his most excellent name which, not coincidentally, means winner.

Eric Lee (eric@victoreric.com): Principal

Eric has been a building design over-achiever since he received his first lego set as a toddler. In fact, he designed his first house when he was only 18 years of age. Since then, he has amassed an impressive career portfolio and been recognized with several design awards and accolades for his work. A naturally gifted and self-taught designer, Eric started with humble family beginnings, as new immigrants to Canada in 1979.

Eric has extensive experience in construction and design, thanks to his early involvement in his family’s development business. He is a multi-disciplinary designer; be it architectural, interior design or graphic design, Eric has an eye for a clean aesthetic. The many awards he has garnered over the years are a direct result of the passion he brings to his work and projects. But above all else, Eric is a great listener. He has a natural skill to listen, interpret, and deliver what his clients want. This is probably the reason so many of his clients have become good friends in the process of building their homes.

Eric has a love for motorcycling and adventure. He is the kind of free spirit that will one day be riding a motorcycle around the world, making friends all along the way.

Paul Zhan (pzhan@victoreric.com): Designer & Asian Client Relations

Paul studied Architectural Design at the South China University of Technology. After working many years in the architectural, interior and graphic design industries, he realized that his true passion was for interior design. He established and operated a successful interior design firm in Guangzhou for four years before coming to Canada.

Upon arriving to Vancouver, he studied in the BCIT Building Design program so he could learn the local standards and methods of design and construction. Paul’s second love to design is photography. He spent the end of the year 2000 traveling from South China to Tibet, taking photos along the way. In his words, “it was an experiece that lasts a lifetime!”

Paul admits he has found a home here in Vancouver and at VictorEric where he can fulfill his passion for design and love for servicing clients.

Jay Pooke (jpooke@victoreric.com): Interior Designer

Jay thinks he caught the design “bug” from his grandfather, who built houses. Even as a youngster, he appreciated the work and effort that went into designing and building. What drives Jay is the poetry of seeing things come together, and “the feeling” afterwards that is shared by the homeowner, the builders and the designers. That sense of pride, and of accomplishment. Designing great spaces and detailing are hallmarks of Jay’s contribution to the process at VictorEric.

With 14 years of custom millwork experience, he enjoys rising to the challenge of translating a client’s vision into their dream space. Here at VictorEric, Jay is known as the Guru. Jay’s experiences and curiosity serves him well – “he knows everything about everything”.

Younhee Woo (ywoo@victoreric .com): Interior Designer

Younhee is very passionate about the work here at VictorEric because she believes in making a space meaningful and sentimental for fellow Vancouverites. The attraction for Younhee coming into the industry is simply the creation from scratch; the process of designing a home from lines and rulers.  A graduate of Architectural Building Technology and Inter Design from BCIT, Younhee is skilled at designing a space that’s mathematically and aesthetically beautiful. Three years of commercial and event venue design experience in New York explains Younhee’s high standards for her work.

Younhee has travelled long miles. Originally from Korea, she lived in Winnipeg for two years before having to run away from the cold. She moved to Vancouver to study, and moved to New York for work following her graduation. Despite the glamorous life in NYC, she returns to Vancouver to advance her career in her favourite city of all.

Danson Fong (dfong@victoreric.com) : Architectural Team Lead

Danson is our Senior Designer who plays an important role to facilitate a smooth experience on all of our projects. Like many top professionals, Danson’s passion in design started as a personal mission. Danson started building houses for himself both as an investor, building homes that would attract homebuyers, and as a father; designing ideal living spaces for his family. With an IT and Civil Engineering background to complement his formal design education, Danson has worked on large scale provincial projects, designing highways and creating municipal infrastructures for the province of B.C. It was an experience that helped him realize that his passion is for designing luxury custom homes.

At VictorEric, Danson is an instrumental expert on our project managements, ensuring that all professional skills and resources are incorporated into each project. Having built and operated his own company, he understands the importance of having a transparent communication system between the office, cityhall and clients to guarantee a smoothsail for our projects.

He is technically proficient and enthusiastic about quality design. Mohd has an eye for detail and is a big reason why our drawings are of such a high standard.

His high standards are not only obvious in his work, but also in his beers. Mohd spends a lot of time outdoors doing what he loves: biking, kayaking and snapping photos on his paths.

Ronaldo Alvaro ( ralvaro@victoreric.com) : Architectural Designer

Deeply influenced by his artistic father, Ronaldo grew a talent that would help him decide what to be growing up. He had a choice between an architect, a culinary chef, a computer graphics designer, or a car designer. His passion stood strong for architecture, leading to his enrolment at the University of Calgary to become an architect.  However, his education path changed and continued his formal training to be an Architectural Technologist instead. It ended up being a good decision for him because after working with architects at previous architect firms, it seemed like all they would do is type emails all day.  Through his eyes, the path to being an architect became less appealing.  Afterall, Ronaldo agrees with Eric’s famous quote, “I’m NOT an architect.”

Ronaldo’s six years of experience in commercial architecture and facility development brings a different viewpoint to our residential design firm.  He is excited to learn and develop the skills needed to capture the “feel” of a VictorEric project.  As his first year with VictorEric, we are as excited to learn about his skills as he adapts to custom residential design with us!

Ronaldo is one of the active members of the VictorEric team. He will say yes to biking, going to the gym, hiking, and with his new “fixer-upper” he is now learning to be a “gearhead” (in his words).

Jantzen Quizon ( jquizon@victoreric.com) : Architectural Designer

Starting as a junior drafter in 2003, Jantzen has been in the architectural design industry ever since his education at Kwantlen Polytenic University in Drafting Technology. Inspired at a young age, Jantzen was exposed to the architectural industry from his father’s side of the family. He has a passion for design along with his obsession to know all details of how things come together. Being an architectural designer was one of Jantzen’s childhood dreams, second to becoming an automotive mechanic. But hey, we all know which one is more glamorous.

Having noted that, on his free time, Jantzen’s passion sits with cars and automobile. He changes cars every now and then, just so that he can try them all, he calls them his “soft spot”. Formerly, he was “eating and breathing” basketball; now he has developed a love for golf and snowboarding. Seeing how Jantzen’s hobbies are slowly progressing to the gentle side, it is not surprising that he has recently picked up photography as well. He is passionate for life and truly believes that life is short. As procrastination is his enemy, he is spontaneous and outgoing, always up for anything, and is an explorer to what life has to offer!

Bruce Van Hunenstijn (bvan@victoreric.com): Construction Team Lead & Site Supervisor

Bruce has a natural talent for problem solving. Like how Bill Gates understands a computer; Bruce is very much at home with anything mechanical. He has been in the construction industry for almost 15 years now and brings with him specialties in plumbing and mechanical systems. His depth of construction knowledge and “can do” attitude serves as a strong foundation for our construction department.

When not building magnificent homes, Bruce treasures every moment with his two adorable sons. Very much a seeker of human potential, he strives to better himself in every way be it in Karate competitions, running a marathon, or just the super dad that he is.

Mike Rodrigues (mrod@victoreric.com): Site Assistant

Mike has been all over the construction industry. After his studies at Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario in the field of Architectural Technology, he has worked on all kinds of residential and commercial projects. Aside front he site experience, he has also developed his office experience as an architectural technician, a specifications writer, an estimator and a project coordinator. After seven years of professional experiences, he has chosen to continue growing with VictorEric as a site assistant to apply his construction experiences.

Mike’s passion for construction bloomed when he worked for a building supplies company at a younger age and was inspired to study architectural technology. He had a strong desire to learn more about how materials come together to produce a finished product. He enjoys seeing how a house evolves from day to day; from a simple sketch turned into a beautiful home.

To accompany Mike’s outgoing personality, he loves to spend his free time outdoors. On the weekends, you can find him biking, camping, surfing and snowboarding. He probably won’t admit it to his friends back east, but Vancouver is where his heart is at.

Janey Lang jlang@victoreric.com) : Accounting Manager & Project Coordinator

Janey’s childhood dream was either to become a policewoman or a teacher; but as she matures, she’s found a love for seeing a project being built from scratch to completion. Janey’s formal training was in Architectural Drafting at BCIT, the Real Estate program at UBC, and most recently the Construction Management Certification Program at BCIT. This special blend of experience gives her insight to the housing market and often helps our clients search for that perfect building lot. As also our Project Coordinator, Janey finds fulfillment in helping to orchestrate the construction process for our clients.

Being the superwoman who wears multiple hats at work is not easy. But when outside of her busy work life, Janey is a mother of two beautiful daughters and enjoys movies, travelling, shopping and manicures.

Evelina has an amazing sense of humour and often brings laughter to the office, although on her free time, her hobbies include sewing, knitting, watching tv, and eating. Yes, eating could be a hobby, for Evelina at least.
